We believe that good enough isn’t good enough, and that’s the same when it comes to looking for new team members.

Better skills, better commitment, better jokes! But what will you get back in return?

Better basics

Of course it’s not all about money, but we’re committed to pay being in line with the industry  standard with regular reviews. On top of that, the studio, sales and client services teams get to financially share in the success of the business with our bonus scheme. And holidays? You’ll start at 21 days, which goes up (if you stick around) to 26 days a year, plus all the usual Bank Holiday.

Better development

We want to help you help us so we’re committed to training and development. Performance reviews help focus your skills towards the right next steps. Studio team members get dedicated personal time to give them space to investigate areas that interest them. On top of this, we have ‘lunch and learns’ where we share and understand each other’s skills and pains. Each team has their own internal documented training programmes which are supplemented by the chance to top up your skills though formal external training and events. There are stacks of options if you want to skill-up and move-up.

Better benefits

You’ll be under the wings of the Group health plan after 2 years’ service, a policy that gives you funds towards consultants and medical bills. You can even book a massage! We offer life assurance and our pension plan ‘match-funds’ your contributions. If you’re a family man or woman, you can sign up for the Childcare Voucher Scheme and there’s even a Baby Bonus if you have a new arrival! Know a possible new team member? With our Referral Scheme you’ll be quids in if we take them on!

At NetConstruct new starters get eased in and taken out for lunch with their team. There’s free fruit on tap and to balance out the healthy stuff, on the last Friday of the month, it’s free breakfast butties all-round. Then there’s the library and Book Club (don’t talk about Book Club), a Ping Pong table and retro (and not-so-retro) gaming consoles.

Better socials

Work hard, play hard – naturally. The Group has an annual Summer Race Day outing and our super-smart (very) merry Christmas bash hits legendary status. At NetConstruct we also throw quarterly socials including BBQs, ‘Segway & Supper’ sessions and (for those not afraid of the pain) paintballing. More informally, Pub Lunch Fridays increasingly spill back to Pub Thursdays, and being located opposite the famous Wetherby Whaler, above Costa and (almost) next door to Bar3, there’s always someone getting a round in!

Better responsibility

We encourage our teams to get stuck into a regular calendar of fundraising events.

We’ve done sedate charity walks and less sedate challenges such as The Three Peaks and Yorkshire Warrior. And then there’s the Colour Rush Run where you can either do the running or revel in the enjoyment of throwing paint as a volunteer. If that’s not enough of an adrenaline rush for you, in the past we’ve even indulged in a charity sky dive!

We’re always helping Children in Need (normally involves baking) and the Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day gives everyone the chance to dress down and cough-up.

Fancy yourself a bit of a gamer? For the last couple of years we’ve raised cash for Macmillan with a 24-hour Gaming Event. This is never just about the games – it’s about the forfeits for losing too!

So that covers what makes NetConstruct and the Group ‘better’,  but there’s even more for individual teams…

Better  for Developers/Engineers

You’ll be joining a strong (and growing) team where learning and teaching within the group is always on the agenda. Many of our Senior Developers started on Support Desk proving progression opportunities are baked in. The clients and their needs are varied plus we continue to invest in extending our CMS platform range to further enhance our offering and expand your skills meaning you’ll always be challenged. You’re not tied to your desk either, there are loads of spaces to break out, break off and break away to if that helps you think.

Better for UX & UI Designers

A small but perfectly formed team packed with digital experience from major UK agencies, you get a great chance to both learn and make a difference. Research-driven and user-centred, this team takes pride in asking clients “why” and not just “what?”. If you like to challenge and be challenged, have outstanding attention to detail and a pride in your pixels, then we could be your new home. Oh, not to mention this is the only department furnished with Apple’s finest and latest hardware!

Better for UI Developers

We treat our HTML coders as part of the wider creative team, that vital link between User Experience and usable functionality. Our Visual Designers will rely on you to bring things to life and further craft ideas, whilst our UX Architects will look for your help to make features more than just convenient, but delightful. Working within our team’s component-based methodologies and all the best libraries, you can be assured that your job satisfaction will be right up there.

Better for Client Services

If you’re ambitious (and we hope you are), there are plenty of internal progression opportunities. Organising the team and organising a client, you’ll get the chance to work across a huge array of sectors in a team tripping over itself to lend a hand - this is Yorkshire after all. But you’re rarely stuck to your seat for long and there is travel involved – they do say travel broadens the mind.

Sound better than where you are? Better get in touch

Just send us an email to taryn.clegg@idhl.co.uk telling us a little bit about yourself and attach your CV along with any relevant links (stuff you’re particularly proud of). If you’re the kind of person we’re looking for, we promise we’ll get back to you.
